Fr. (Dr.) Joseph Puthenpurakal teaches Missiology at Sacred Heart Theological College (SHTC), Shillong. He is a member of the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS), of International Association of Catholic Missiologists (IACM) and of Fellowship of Indian Missiologists (FOIM). Fr. Joseph has been serving in North East India for over four decades. He has published books and articles on Mission and related topics. He has been the SDB Mission Delegate for South Asia. After being director of Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) for 17 years, he is now rector of Provincial House-Mathias Institute, Mawlai, Shillong. In this capacity he is in-charge of the two-year MTh course with special emphasis on Mission and missiological studies at SHTC. He is also co-editor of Anthropology Today: An International Peer-Reviewed NEIRA [North East Institute for Research in Anthropology] Journal.
